A small group of young professionals living in D.C. began to gather informally for discipleship, worship, and prayer. They carried a heart to see co-workers reached in this city. And began to pray in promises of a deeper work to be established, for an Antioch church in D.C..

In January of 2019, a group of 25 people gathered in a living room on Capitol Hill for the first official gathering of Antioch D.C. On Easter Sunday of that year, Chase Moore gave his first sermon at Antioch D.C. and later that summer, his family moved here to lead this Body. By the end of 2019, Antioch D.C. was meeting in David's Tent on the National Mall and in 3 house churches around the city. The "Tent People" were born.

Meeting outdoors at David's Tent proved providential when COVID limited indoor gatherings in the city. Fraught by the pandemic, protests, and upheaval, our young church pressed into prayer, worship, Discipleship, and community in remarkable ways. A raw and unpredictable environment forged in us a great dependence on him that still defines us today.

In 2021, Antioch D.C. launched one of our consistent ministries, The Antioch Discipleship Intensive - a nine-month discipleship intensive that helps people deepen their walk with Jesus and live out their faith day to day. In 2021, we continued to meet at David's Tent on the National Mall.

In 2022, house churches began multiplying into Northern Virginia, marking a continued growth in our church while also cultivating a deeper sense of mission for our nation and the nations. This same year, we took a church-wide outreach trip to Miami that later became our first church plant — Antioch Miami.

2023 was a marking transition for our church, as we said goodbye to regular meetings in David's tent after four and a half years. We were invited to begin meeting on Embassy Row in Northwest D.C. in a building with a rich revival history stretching back to 1900s Azusa Street and a 1970s young adult revival gathering called TAG. On September 17, 2023, we held our first service at this building located at 3855 Massachusetts Avenue NW.

As we settled into this new meeting space, our church body, its diversity & ministries began to grow alongside the multiplying house churches. Our kids' ministry began to flourish as new families and babies were added to our number.

In 2025, Antioch D.C. added more staff with Kelli Clark & Alex Griggs, increasing capacity for more harvest that God was bringing. At the end of 2025, Antioch D.C. sent their first missionaries to Japan.

In 2026, Antioch DC turned seven years old. The first seven years were that God shaped us into an Acts 2 community filled with expectancy & preparedness for an Acts 11 harvest. This year we look forward to growing into an Acts 13 hub. Our rally cry for this year is that we would grow into that house, brick by brick, praise by praise.
